Yes — it plots a real catalog of over 5,000 stars by actual right ascension, declination, and apparent magnitude, plus all 89 official IAU constellation figures.
Is a zodiac sign the same thing as its constellation?
Not exactly. This viewer maps each zodiac sign onto the IAU constellation that traditionally shares its name, but modern IAU boundaries don't line up evenly with the equal 30° zodiac signs astrology uses.
What does 'Observer View' do in the sky viewer?
It drops the camera to ground level with a horizon, as if standing outside looking up, so a constellation below the horizon is genuinely out of view.
Does the solar system view use real planetary positions?
